This was Your Channel
To all of you who are watching us, - your chosen channel, a great tragedy has taken place in our country today. And your channel hangs its head in shame. We shall leave no stone unturned in impartially investigating into who is behind making us an object of ridicule. BRUCE ROBSON conjures up an uncharacteristic response from Times Now.

To all of you who are watching us, your chosen channel,  a great tragedy has taken place in our country today. And your channel hangs its head in shame.

As it goes live across the world (and beyond, for those who can pick up our transmission), the only channel - I repeat, the only channel reporting live from the scene of the tragedy, we want to show you how apathy and an extreme don't-care attitude (because of a misconceived notion that we are the best) on our part has led us to make a complete fool of ourselves before the whole world.

This is a very serious lapse on our part.

Today we want answers.

Today we want to know who is responsible for this goof. We want action to be taken against those in this farce who take things so lightly that we as a result are now red-faced and made the laughing stock of the whole world.

Who is answerable for inflicting this embarassment on our entire nation and preventing us from ever again looking the rest of the world in the face?

Will the truth ever emerge and the guilty be named or will this investigation also go the established way of all other investigations?

Your channel assures you that we will try our best (unlike others in the past) and mind you, we shall leave no stone unturned in impartially investigating into who is behind making us an object of ridicule.

That is our pledge, that is our commitment to this cause, and that is our promise to each and every one of you today.

After all, you all know that your channel has been leading from the front, championing the cause of transparency to nail the culprit(s) in every case.

You all know that we have been asking the questions every time, in every case, to all whom we decided were guilty; from those suppressing accusations of Racialism in Australia, to those openly supporting Terrorism in Pakistan, from the grinning 'animal' accused retired Police officer to the stiff-lipped DGCA officials.

We have summoned to our studios the people whom we decided were directly concerned and have authoritatively sought their explanations ??" Officials and Peons, Criminals and Ministers ??" yes, our very own; and even breaking protocol have fearlessly addressed the Departmental Representatives of other countries directly on our programmes.

We have tried each case even before the courts did and identified the culprit(s) for them, thus making the learned judges' work easier.

All this and more we have done in the pursuit of holding our flag high in the vanguard of the fields of journalism and the media.

And today all that your channel has worked to build we have destroyed - Credibility we have made Incredible, for Perfection we have demonstrated our Imperfection, and our No-nonsense approach we have made Nonsensical.

How can your channel face the world after all our proclamations of our own infallibility when we don't even know the difference in the spelling of 'plane' and 'plain' in the context of our live report on the crash of IX 812?

God save our newsroom.
