An advisory committee of All India Radio met after nearly 34 years earlier this week to discuss the revival plans of its external broadcast division, PTI reports. The last meeting of the 'Standing Advisory Committee on External Broadcast' was apparently held in 1983, and the committee has been "revived and reconstituted" as part of the revamping process of the External Service Division of the public broadcaster. One of the issues discussed was how to counter the increasing penetration of foreign radio broadcasts in the country, particularly in the north eastern states.
